14 Days /13 Nights

Day 1- Friday Sept- Meals- LD
Upon arrival from International flight meet and assist for your PX flight POM/Goroka. Upon arrival in Goroka you will be transferred to Gk Lodge. After lunch begin the tour of Goroka and the surrounds includes the JK McCarthy Museum and the Raun Raun Theatre. We then visit Asaro village to meet the famous Asaro Mud-men who traditionally covered themselves in mud before raiding nearby villages. The legend of the Mud men says that the tribe was attacked and forced to flee their village. To hide, they jumped into the Asaro River. When they emerged at twilight from the river, covered in mud, the attacking tribe saw them and thought they were spirits and fled the area. While in the village we may be able to watch an eerie performance of the Mud men, which is a production of mime. We also may see a local artist making an actual mud mask. In the afternoon return we gather this evening for our orientation meeting and dinner. Overnight at Goroka.

Day 2- Saturday Sept - Meals- BLD
After breakfast transfer to the Goroka show ground which is a yearly event in Papua New Guinea, the Goroka Cultural Show is one of the best shows in Papua New Guinea. You will be able to witness some of the amazing traditional dances and tribal attire from over 40 different tribal groups. An early morning wake-up call gets us to the show ground to see the preparations before the formal show begins. We see the performers preparing their traditional clothing and body decorations and practicing for their “dances”. We spend the next two days at the Goroka show arena taking in the “sing sing” performances. Overnight in Goroka.

Day 3- Sun Sept - Meals- BLD
After breakfast we transfer you to the show ground to see the final preparations before the formal show begins. We see the performers preparing their traditional clothing and body decorations and practicing for their “dances” for the final day. Overnight in Goroka.

Day 4-Mon Sept _ Meals- BLD- To the Western Highlands Province
After breakfast departs Goroka for the Western Highlands Province, we depart for a road scenic drive to the Western Highlands via Simbu and the Jiwaka Provinces. We will have hot lunch at Molka Lodge. After lunch we continue our tour to Mt. Hagen visiting schools, plantations etc. Overnight at Hagen.

Day 5- Tues Sept Meals -BLD
After early breakfast we take a long road tour to the Hela Province the home of the famous Huli wigman. We will be stopping at few places to stretch our legs and for nature call. Upon arrival in Tari we will overnight at Lakwanda Guest House House.

Day 6- Wed Sept - Meals- BLD
After breakfast you will see the Huli wig man Performances includes Huli wig man dance, Widows, Bachelor boys, fortune teller, girl’s initiations, and village study. Your dinner will be consisted of local vegetables and from pit oven roasting. Overnight at Lakwanda Lodge

Day 7- Thursday Sept - Meals- BLD
After breakfast begin your road transfer back to the Western Highlands Province driving through Southern highlands province stopping at interesting sites. Overnight at Hagen.

Day 8- Friday Sept - Meals- BLD
After early breakfast you will be departing for Tapolga village for the traditional dances and activities. You will spend the entire day at the village having oven roasting (lunch) to be served at the village. In the afternoon transfer back to Lodge.

Day 9- Sat Sept- Meals- BLD

After breakfast transfer lodge to the airport for your CG flight HGU/WWK. Upon arrival meet and transfer to the hotel/Lodge. After lunch begin the tour of Wewak and the surrounds. In the afternoon return and overnight at Wewak

Day 10 - Sun Sept _ Meals- BLD
This morning we drive to Pagwi on the Sepik River. If you go very early in the morning you will have time to see the Cultural show at Kanganamun village. The drive can take between 5 and 6 hours as we visit markets and viewpoints along the way. Arriving in Pagwi, we board motorized dugout canoes and travel down river to Palimbe village - home of the crocodile cult - and set up for our next two nights in the village. On the Sepik River we will be spending 4 nights in basic dormitory accommodation (bush or tribal longhouses) with limited bathing and toilet facilities. Each person will have a foam mattress with sheets and a pillow with pillowcase as well as a mosquito net. Overnight at Kanganamun Village.

Day -11 & 12- Mon and Tue- BLD- Sepik River Excursion
Today, we will travel by dugout canoes along the Sepik River and its tributaries. Before heading out, explore a Palimbe village and see their beautiful hand-carved totem pole. We will stop at stilted villages to learn about the local way of life, see their Spirit Houses (Haus Tamburan) where rituals and initiations take place and as much as possible, try to meet with the villagers. We visit Aibom Village -known for its clay pot makers, and Kanganum village to meet the people and see how they fish, make sago and build their canoes.

Excursion These two days program will determine by activities/events and the weather condition at the Sepik River. You tour guide at the Sepik river will decide the program for you. Overnight at Kanganamun village.

Day 13 - Wed Sept Meals- BLD- Sepik River/Wewak
Return to Wewak. This morning we depart Kanganamun village for Wewak. For those who wish, you may also stretch your legs with a walk along the beach or visit the local market. Overnight in Wewak

Day 14- Thur Sept - Meals- B-Wewak/POM/Out
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your PX flight WWK/POM and then connect with your international departing flight to be nominated from your end.

17 Days / 16 nights -Itinerary -Goroka Cultural show

Day 1-  Sept - Meals- Lunch & Dinner -PORT MORESBY
Upon arrival from international arrival flight meets and transfers to the hotel. After getting settled begin the tour of the city and the surrounds includes the botanical garden, national museum and the adventure Park. Return for lunch and then rest of the afternoon you are free. Hotel. Lunch and dinner included. Overnight at Laguna Hotel.

Day 2- Sept - Meals- BLD-PORT MORESBY  LOSUIA
(ILE DE KIRIWINA)
After breakfast transfer hotel to the airport for your CG flight POM/Louisia. Upon arrival from flight meet and transfer to the Lodge. After getting settled begins the tour of the Trobriand Island and the culture, meet villagers, dance shows on evening… Lodge. Overnight at Lokuia Lodge

Day 3- Sept- Meals- BLD- LOSUIA
(ILE DE KIRIWINA)
The Trobriand Islanders have a fascinating and rich culture. The label of a “free love society” has been placed on the islands, but the sexual practices of these people have been misunderstood. The society does encourage free choice and “casual encounters” as the norm for teenagers, however, people are encouraged to settle down to married life. The belief in this society is that all children are in spirit form until they enter a woman through her head and then are born. In addition to spending time with the villagers, we also explore the island including its beautiful beaches, WWII relics and nearby caves. Our time on Kiriwina Island is flexible so that we can explore according to the group’s interests and local events. Overnight in Kiriwina- Lokuia (Kiriwina)Lodge.

Day 4-  Sept - Meals-BLD- LOSUIA
(ILE DE KIRIWINA)  PORT MORESBY 
After breakfast transfer to the airport for  your CG flight Louisia to Port Moresby. From the airport
you will be transferred to the hotel. Rest of the day free. Overnight at Laguna hotel.

Day 5- Sept - BLD- POM/Tari
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your PX flight POM/Tari.
Upon arrival in Tari you will be met and transferred to Lakwanda Lodge gather this evening for our orientation meeting and dinner. Lakwanda Lodge accommodation is very basic however encounter with the local Huli people is going to be a wonderful experience. Overnight at Lakwanda Lodge

Day 6- Sept- Meals- BLD- Tari Lakwanda Lodge
After breakfast you will then be with the Huli men for the Huli wig man Performances  includes Huli wig man dance, Widows, Bachelor boys, fortune teller,  girls initiations, village study and enjoy a local pit oven  roasting consisted of vegetables, sweet potatoes, and pork. After the performances you will walk around the local villages for village study. In the afternoon you will return to the Lodge for overnight.


Day 7- Sept - Meals-BLD
After early breakfast we take a long road tour to the Western Highlands Province via Mendi. We will be stopping at few places to stretch our legs and for nature call. Upon arrival in Hagen we will overnight at Lodge.

Day 8- Sept - Meals- BLD
After early breakfast you will be departing for Tapolga village for the Pre show activities. You will spend the entire day at the show ground witness the pre-show activities. Pit oven roasting (lunch) will be served at Tapolga village. In the afternoon transfer back to Lodge.

Day 9- Sept - Meals- BLD
After breakfast you will be driven to the Eastern Highlands via Simbu and the Jiwaka Provinces. Upon arrival in Goroka you will be transferred to the show ground to witness the Pikinini festival. In the afternoon return and overnight at Lodge.


Day 10-Sept- Meals- BLD-  GOROKA Festival
After breakfast you will be transferred to the show ground which is a yearly event in Papua New Guinea, the Goroka Cultural Show is one of the best shows in Papua New Guinea to witness some of the amazing traditional dances and tribal attire from over 40 different tribal groups. An early morning wake-up call gets us to the show ground to see the preparations before the formal show begins. We see the performers preparing their traditional clothing and body decorations and practicing for their “dances”. We spend the day at the Goroka show Arena taking in the “singsing” performances. Overnight at Kanda Rest House. Homestay or hotel ? Breakfast, lunch and dinner included

Day 11-  Sept - Meals- BLD- GOROKA Festival - MOUNT HAGEN
After breakfast transfer to the show ground to spend half of the day to see different cultural groups missed out for the first day at the show ground. In the afternoon, transfer to Mount Hagen. Homestay. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight at Magic Mountain Nature Lodge

Day 12-  Sept - Meals- BLD- Hagen  WEWAK
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your PX flight HAgen/Wewak. Upon arrival
meet and transfer to the Sepik River. Upon arrival at Pagwi water front you will be met and will  jump
ontothe waiting wooden motorise canoe to KANGANAMAN village here you will be welcomed with a
traditaional welcome dance. The village is famous for the oldest « haus tambaran ». village Inn. Hotel.
Breakfast,lunch and dinner included

Day13- Sept- Meals-BLD- KANGANAMAN - PALAMBEI - AIBOM - HAMANABIT - KANGANAMAN
After breakfast begin the tour of the sepik as you will discover the Moyen Sepik, with the Palimbe village (haus tambaran, bags bilums…). Boat trip until Aibom, and maybe until Chambri Lakes  Come back to Kanganaman. Homestay. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight at Kanganamun village

Day 14- Sept - Meals- BLD- KANGANAMUN - WEWAK
After breakfast transfer back to Wewak with a motorised wooden canoe until Pagwi you jump onto a waiting vehicle back to Wewak. Overnight at Hotel or guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 15 -Sept - Meals- BLD-Wewak to Madang
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your PX flight Wewak/Madang. Madang Province has many of the country’s highest peaks and a broad ethnic diversity. Madang has been labelled “the prettiest town in the South Pacific” due to its palm-rimmed beaches, offshore islands, and lovely parks; all set against a rugged mountain back drop. On arrival in Madang you will be transferred to Jais Aben Resort. After lunch we begin the tour of Madang includes the local town market, kalibobo light house, Balek Wildlife Sanctuary, home of an interesting sulphur creek pouring out of a limestone formation. The creek is filled with turtles, eels and fish. The creek is said to cure illnesses by the local people. The park also has a variety of tropical trees and plants, hot springs and sulphur caves. In the afternoon return and Jais Aben Resort.

Day 16- Sept- Meals- BLD-Madang Island tours

After breakfast we depart Resort for a Harbour cruise and tour of nearby Madang Islands. We stop at the next island for a snake dance and chat with the local people. After the dance we return for snorkelling and then in the afternoon to the hotel. Overnight at Jais Aben Resort

Day 17- Sept _ Meals- BLD
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your PX flight Madang/POM and then connect with your international departing flight to be nominated from your end.
